Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST)

Thousands of people in the UK end their lives by suicide each year. Learning about the possible risk factors linked to suicidal thoughts, along with how they can be prevented, may save a life.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) teaches you to recognise when someone has suicidal thoughts and helps you to understand how and when to act. You will not become a therapist but instead, you will learn practical and supportive skills to successfully work with them. This will enable you to create a plan that supports their immediate safety.

ASIST is a two-day interactive course that enables you to become more confident in identifying risk and intervening to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.

Our skilled trainers will be available to offer you support and create a learning atmosphere where you will feel safe and encouraged to support each other.

Please note: Due to the nature of this training, we only provide this in person. Furthermore, this course includes role-play activities, which may distress some delegates.

You must be 18 and over to attend this course.

This course is available only for those living or working within the Plymouth community.
