Festive Fundraising at the Specialist Outreach Recovery Team!

null

We have a great update to share with you from some amazing individuals within our Wellbeing Champion Programme. The Wellbeing Champions from the Specialist Outreach Recovery Team (SORT) at Livewell Southwest, have been dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of both staff and patients.

In December, the Wellbeing Champions from SORT were busy spreading joy and happiness during the Christmas festivities to raise money for their allotment. The allotment is an important space for both patients and staff, providing a peaceful environment to relax, talk and grow fruit and vegetables.

The team identified the potential to make further improvements to the allotment, particularly with a half-built structure that could be made patient-friendly for their art group to have a lovely space to get creative. They were able to find 6 free UPVC windows on Marketplace but still needed to raise money to purchase wood and materials to make it watertight.

To help fund their goal, the team organized a Christmas fundraising event where they baked yummy cakes, created hand-crafted items, held a raffle, planted some items and sold unwanted items such as books. They even decorated the place to look like a Christmas grotto!

The event was a great success, with many staff and patients coming to buy some goodies just in time for Christmas. In total, the day raised around £342, which is an amazing starting point for the team to complete their goals!

We want to congratulate the Wellbeing Champions at SORT for their efforts and success in raising funds for the allotment. We are excited to see the finished allotment and the benefits it will bring to patients and staff.
